Contract Hardware founder & history

Brenda Ferri began her career in the construction industry during the 1990s, starting as an estimator. With time, she honed her skills in reading blueprints and specifications. Combining her business acumen with her construction industry knowledge, Brenda took the entrepreneurial leap and founded Contract Hardware Inc. in 2001.

As a minority woman in business, Brenda actively engaged with various building industry organizations, including the Maryland Building Industry Association and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Contract Hardware Inc. initially focused on Building specialties, particularly Division 10 products.

For the first 15 years of its existence, Contract Hardware operated out of Jessup, Maryland. However, in 2017, the company expanded significantly by acquiring a 40,000 square foot facility on Pistorio Road in Baltimore. This expansion enabled Contract Hardware to introduce an interior hollow core door line, broadening its product offerings to both commercial and residential clients.
